FAQs
What chargers can you take over?
We can take over any OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) compliant chargers, regardless of brand or manufacturer.
What does OCPP stand for?
OCPP stands for Open Charge Point Protocol.
It just means that the software inside the charge point can be moved between different Charge Point Operators (CPO) and still work, if you want it to.
It means freedom for you if you’re not happy with the service your installer and/or CPO is giving you.
How do i know if my charger is OCPP compliant?
Simple ways to check:
Send us your charger details – manufacturer, model number, and installation date. We’ll confirm compatibility.
OCPP sticker/documentation – most OCPP-compliant chargers will have this marked on the unit or in installation documents
Check with your installer – ask if they installed OCPP-compliant units
Free site survey – we can visit and assess your existing infrastructure at no cost
Can you still install new chargers if I have existing ones?
Absolutely! This is one of our most common scenarios. We can provide a hybrid approach.
– Take over your existing OCPP-compliant chargers
– Install additional new chargers where needed
– Manage everything through one platform – no matter which chargers are new or existing
Can you help me with my capacity even though I have existing chargers?
Yes. Capacity planning is crucial for both existing and new chargers.
Even with existing chargers, you might need capacity upgrades for:
– Adding more charge points
– Faster charging speeds
– Supporting larger vehicles (vans, trucks)
– Future fleet expansion
What happens to my current charging service provider?
We handle the transition completely – cancelling existing contracts, transferring user accounts, and ensuring zero downtime during the switch.
How long does it take to take over existing chargers?
Our take over process usually takes 2 weeks once our contracts are signed.
What if my existing chargers need repairs?
We can help to get chargers repaired using our relationships with the manufacturers and usually complete the take over once this is done.
It’s something we can do as an extra as we are not contracted to do this, but if the charger appears to be repairable and hits our requirements for adoption then we will look to help.
If it’s beyond repair, we’ll let you know and quote for a replacement
Can you work with our existing energy supplier?
Yes – we integrate with any energy supplier
What about user management and billing?
We provide complete user management, including RFID cards, mobile app access, and will help you set competitive/relevant tariff options
Do you provide 24/7 driver support even for existing chargers?
Yes – we provide the same level of service, data and driver support – including the 24/7 UK call centre – for chargers we install or take over.
