Stark announces the acquisition of WPD Smart Metering, a natural next step for the businesses who have an established partnership for over 15 years.  

The move comes at a time where Stark is fast developing the leading data and services platform for commercial and industrial energy consumers.  This news follows on from a number of other acquisitions undertaken by Stark in recent years including Stark Technical Services in 2017, Stark Utility Funding Limited in 2018 and Squire Energy in 2019 whilst also launching internationally in Dubai earlier this year. 

By bringing best in class non-domestic electricity metering expertise in house, Stark is even better positioned to deliver a market leading data experience and reinforce its position of being the UK’s number one non-domestic energy data and service champion.  The group will offer a seamless, end to end service for suppliers, intermediaries and end-consumers.  


We are thrilled to announce our expansion of services to include MOP capabilities through the acquisition of WPD Smart Metering, so that we are now even better positioned to direct our combined resources to meet our mission of providing excellent data quality for customers.   

Stark will retain WPD Smart Metering’s current employees whilst promoting investment to help support the team to become an integral part of the overall Stark business. This provides an invaluable opportunity to enhance our service offering further and complement our existing expertise.
